Today marks the launch of my personal blog, where I will connect written posts on my twitter to deeper explorations of concepts that will hopefully provide greater depth and a compass for further pursuits by my readers.
Photography is the art of manipulating light, capturing it, and ultimately preserving it. Photography is an art-science from the time of its chemical invention to today’s digital revolution. In the end, the goal is the same. But its ease and volume has diminished its permanence.
This is why I am most interested in continuing the original art-science though my education into the chemical analog aspects of this medium. I am not adverse to digital photography, it has its place.
However, the characteristics associated with the analog medium has captured the hearts of many despite the offerings of nearly perfect optics and razor sharp clarity, so much so that now digital artists seeks to emulate the imperfection of analog. Progress is never without irony.
